Ethically made handbags
We partner directly with Indonesian artisans, mostly women, to source natural and non-toxic materials locally, such as cotton, tropical grass (called 'ate' in Bahasa Indonesia), coconut leaves, rattan and water hyacinth. We are committed to use fresh plant-based dye such as flowers and fruits that are grown in the tropical islands of Indonesia. We also ensure that there is no child labor in our artisans studio and that the artisans are paid fairly according to local standard wages. Our hearts are all for ethical products and fair trade!
Around the world, cultural traditions especially in craftsmanship are in danger of being lost. In Indonesia, the tradition of Ikat and Weaving are slowly under developed and under appreciated. That is why we work with artisans in Bali and East Nusa Tenggara, one of the birth places of those traditions.
We are committed to reviving these techniques through innovations and training, collaborating with local government and non-profits. Techniques like Indonesian Ikat and weaving is what we focus on.
